Freewrite on love...

Im convinced that those whose write these beautiful, rose colored poems
in ink that seems like it has been squeezed from bleeding rose petals
have never been in love before
cuz if they did,
they would know that the reason the color red is so often associated with love
is because you will bleed at some point to maintain it
i have matyred my one man show to dance in tandem with her
walktzing our way across wayward winds, i love you 5,000 miles at a time
across distances that verizon even can't cover
can you hear me now
my daddy told me that love wasnt easy,
but it was worth it
and if you craft your love boat well enough
none of life's storms can capsize you
and even if it does, have a liferaft big enough for two
i love you across oceans
across desert storms
through worn sneakers
that i've had for three years
because i'd rather spend the money i'd saved on a plane ticket
to keep us fresh rather than myself
the sneakers preach of a self less love and a queen
browner than the earth, with skin rich like texas tea
i drink your love one cup at a time
if i could i would wrap your smile around my coffee cup
kiss you with each sip
reminisce on your taste
and pray,
that its strong enough to carry me through my day,
or until i can see you again.
